illuustrations X lifewithjson: The Finale

The day has finally come!! And a whole month earlier than expected too! Ricky was initially aiming to release this on July 1st  but I guess he was on a good grind and got it done a lot sooner than he thought. I’m super stoked to be able to share all his hard work with you guys.

First of all, I just want to give a huge thanks to Ricky for finally convincing me to do this. This was all Ricky’s idea and it’s seriously been in the making since the I had my FRS. He’s really been getting into video and the sad part is that he had quite a few videos of my FRS and then I went and sold it, so he never got a chance to finish it. With the CTR looking a little less stock now, he wanted to revisit the idea and start over. Typically, I’d be cool with it but he was trying really hard to convince me to add some of my own voice over in to the video as well. As you already know – I am cool with being on the back side of the camera but not on the other side… So putting my voice in a video was next level for me. LOL

He spent a lot of time convincing me of his vision of how he wanted the video to turn out and eventually I just caved and cursed him a million times and did it. He provided me with questions and/or thoughts to mull over and I answered them. I will admit that it’s a little weird to talk to myself but use a tone of voice like I’m talking to someone so that it sounds natural. Literally all I did was record my voice, handed it over to him and he did all the magic.

Seeing this video all completed with all the footage he captured paired with the music and the emotions it brings to me personally makes me super happy about how it all came together. He was able to bring how I feel about the blog to life and that’s important to me. This blog was never really meant to be about any “one” thing – it was and always will be a place for me to throw all my random thoughts and pictures so that anyone who cared to look or read about it could do so. More importantly, it will literally become an archive of everything awesome I’ve done and managed to capture and I’m stoked so many of you love following along.

I really really hope you guys enjoy the video – if not for my awkward voice over – then at least for the awesome video and music Ricky put together. He put a lot of hours into it and although it will be done for you in 11-ish minutes, I hope you guys feel the same energy I did when I watched it. Enjoy! Please leave some feedback if you have any comments!

illuustrations X lifewithjson: Teaser Video

Ricky got this done faster than I thought – just a quick clip of what he’s been working on over the last little bit…

I’m both super stoked and super nervous about it and it’s probably only because it’s the first time I’ve had my voice in anything LOL. I think it’s a good look into what lifewithjson is at a more personal level and in a different form than pictures. The below is a collection of the shots we got from a few practice sessions. I truthfully have no idea how the final video is going to look since we’re not even there yet and I don’t think Ricky does either but it’ll be coming in the next few months…

We’re just waiting for a few finishing pieces before we go out and Ricky captures the rest of the scenes. We hope that you enjoy at least this little teaser clip for now!

Feedback? Thoughts?

Video: MDMVisuals x lifewithjson

At long last (not really – Mike busted that out pretty quick IMO), the video I’ve been teasing through photos for the last little while is done! Mike sent it late last night and boiiiiiiii is it sweet. I can’t do video myself nor do I really want to after seeing how much work it actually is, so watching Mike and Ricky do their craft is something else. Ricky still needs to get some additional clips before he finishes his video, but in the meantime – Mike’s video can help fill that void.

He’s got a really chill vibe going on throughout the video and it’s super relaxed. I’m a fan of it because it doesn’t involve any type of DDR song, it doesn’t require a bass drop or any funky shaky visual effect to present itself well. Mike incorporates a few voice clips, some exhaust sound clips and music in-between. I’m no pro, but the transition of the video from meeting up with him and saying “what’s up” to ending with the take-off and Ricky yelling “am I in your clip?!” ever so faintly makes this a really feel like a homegrown and personal video to me.

Anyway, watch the video and enjoy. Give Mike a follow/like as well. It’s nice “working” side by side with someone who is like-minded in the photography game, so I’m happy he was able to do this for me.

Video: Jack’s LS Swapped 240SX Burnout

It’s been a bit dead this past week due to a wedding we had to attend and some family coming over so I haven’t had much time to do anything. We’re slowly getting back into our groove again and with the colder weather on its way, I’m on a mission to get as many photoshoots in as I can again. No surprise, really – I always procrastinate till the end when it’s almost too late.

Anyway, last night we went out to shoot Jack’s LS Swapped 240SX – one of the cleanest builds in YYC right now. I think the first time I saw this in person was at this years illmotion Sunday School show and I just had to shoot it.

As a teaser, here’s a little clip taken from my 6S Plus with the 4K video option enabled. Not sure if it makes any big difference on a monitor that can’t display 4K, but it’s there. JC took the clip while I took some shots… I’ll try to have the photos all edited by the end of the weekend and have it up early next week. You guys are going to love these shots!

PS – I believe you have to go to the site to view HD…
