FS: 2015 Toyota Corolla S

Might as well post this up here to get traction too. We’re putting the Corolla up for sale since we barely use it. It was originally just a replacement for Diana’s Fit at the time since we were getting a killer deal on the trade value. Since then, it kind of just sits there and we drive it once in a while but not enough to make it worth it… So why not make it worth it for someone else!

The car today has 23,703km on it – one of the lowest I’ve seen on the market over the last few weeks. If you know me, you know this car has been kept in mint condition. No accidents, no dents or dings, it gets driven like a grandma, and the interior is pretty much perfect. Really, the only seat that’s ever used is the drivers seat. I think the backseat has a total of 1 hour of seat time since we’ve brought it home.

It’s the S trim package A. It has dual front heated seats, auto windows and mirrors, USB/bluetooth connectivity, steering wheel controls, cruise control, touchscreen HU, heated side mirrors, back-up camera, and foglights – basically everything you need in either a daily driver or a more-than-reliable winter car. I’ll include the Compustar 2-way remote starter, a set of all-season tires with 90% tread and another set of winter tires with about 85% tread. The car has always had rubber floormats inside so the carpet is in very good condition, trunk has never been used, and it has free oil changes at Toyota until 2020. Maintenance has been kept up to date with all receipts and records available from Country Hills Toyota. All in all, a great car – just little use from us so I’d rather not have it go to waste.

Asking price: $19,500 OBO. Open to reasonable offers.

Tokyo Auto Salon – 86/BRZ Goodies

Some of the previews of what’s coming for TAS this year look promising – still a show I want to go to sometime at least once. Until that happens, I have to live vicariously through other peoples’ photos and posts.

I’m particularly excited about what’s showing for the 86/BRZ and as time goes on, the aftermarket offerings just get better and more innovative. Some are totally wild and crazy, some are super weird and odd, and then you have the tame and subtle. I love them all because it gives me inspiration of what I want my build to be. It’s nice to draw from different sources and put something together that becomes unique in your own way.

One of the latest previews/leaks I’ve seen have been the 14r60 Carbon Concept from Toyota. I would kill to have the 14r60 aero but so far only the swan neck GT wing is available at a hefty price of $4000. Once that rear bumper or front bumper become available, it’ll be on the top of my list to get.

While the other is the new Varis Kamikaze kit for the 86. These were the only photos posted by Varis and it essentially just plays off of the original widebody kit with  more aggressive canards, a bigger splitter, the Kamikaze swan neck wing and a new diffuser with a center exit exhaust. Just from these pics alone, it doesn’t look like much and it doesn’t seem to deviate too far from what the original widebody but there could be more to come. It just looks like they bolted on extra pieces and ruined the flow of the kit entirely but who am I to judge… I’ll never do the Varis widebody anyway.

If anyone goes to TAS, you’ll have to send me pics – including anything 86/BRZ related. It’s like Christmas to me seeing new parts for the platform!

Winter Hibernation – AKA Worst Day of the Year

It’s that time again… To put our cars away before the white stuff falls. It’s actually not so bad anymore but it’s still depressing having to see your car tucked away in a corner everyday as you come and go for work.

It’s a little easier for me knowing that it’s almost aesthetically complete – just a few more additions here and there but nothing mind shattering. It’s in a state where I just love to drive it now and with a few more toys here and there, it’ll just be more exciting to drive.

Anyway, just some super simple shots just to fill the blog a little bit… Hopefully I’ll have some time to gather some parts over winter and update you all. I’m sure there’s plenty of other things I can post too 🙂 Happy parking!

Before I put it away, I wanted to get a shot of Aria in the Recaro. It’d be nice to see what a difference it will be when summer time comes next year, and I take the same shot. She wasn’t too pleased about the whole idea, but I’m sure time will change her mind 🙂

After a sudsy bath… Doing this in -2C is not fun. A lot of people ask me why I put it away so early… I agree, it’s a bit early considering the roads are pretty dry, there hasn’t been any snow, and there still isn’t any gravel on the roads. A big reason I put it away earlier is because it’s much easier to clean and dry and make sure all is good in warmer weather than it is in cold, snowy weather. Even in -2C, it was a bitch to dry the car properly.

The last booty shot of the year.

All clean finally. The next piece is to tuck it away tightly in the corner, hook up the trickle charger and let ‘er sleep for the next few months. I have a feeling these winter months will go by quick since I’m spending less time thinking about when I can drive it next, and more time with Aria. Not a bad thing, I suppose!

And one last shot of the cockpit… Until next year!

The Black Swan @ Driven 2016: Different Perspectives

A few different shots that I found floating around the interwebz and some shots that were emailed to me (Thank you!). Just wanted to post them up to give a quick shout out for them. I love seeing shots of my car from a perspective than my own – it’s always refreshing to see!

And one more from Ken Au coming all the way from Winnipeg. A very different angle from the rest – and I love it! Another great shot to show the lines of the Arise bumper.

Thanks again to those that emailed me the pics! I love them!
