illmotion Sunday School Show and Shine IX – Part 2

I’m sorry guys – I had pictures all out of order yesterday. That’s a side effect of getting snipped (just kidding). Anyway, I had a bunch more photos of roll-in, so let’s finish that off before we get to actual coverage… Patience is a virtue! And besides, roll-in shots can be fun too 🙂

Rich at the booth as per usual playing sick beats throughout the show. Also a self-plug – peep that Miami Vice-inspired illmotion shirt I designed for the guys for the show. I dig it.

A quick shot of Nat for the day. She was basically JC’s co-pilot for the day to get shots as well. Obviously she was more geared up and ready than I was with her A7III and A6400… Packing too much heat.

A gangster Super Duty with custom parts galore. Again, I know nothing about trucks but it’s stuff like this that I can get down with.

It had quite the presence… Shows you how lifted and big it actually is compared to Steve standing beside it…

Something a little different… This Renault Clio MK1 was a cool sight to see!

Johannah’s S15 Spec R in a Sapphire blue. A very clean example of an aggressive and clean S15. No bolt on flares, no mangled fenders, just simple and effective aero.

Another shot of Johanna’s S15 showing the fitment.

JDM front Integra with a Mugen wing out back and on what look to be Advan Super Racing replicas? Can’t confirm.

A clean Celica on Work Equips

While I was standing around, thought I’d get a snap of all these S2000’s… Barb, Ryan and Corey…

Rocket Bunny S13 on VS-KF’s

Better shot of the whole car… Rare to see one of these without the 6666 livery. I like it clean.

@stoneyrotor’s RX7 on gold BBS’s…

Kind of interesting to see this RHD 350Z in pink on Cosmis Racing wheels. I’m genuinely curious as to why you’d choose a RHD 350Z over a LHD one that can easily be attained here… Unless of course you were really just wanting RHD…

I don’t know what the hell this is but it was one of my favourites of the show… With the “Tiffany” blue/mint colour theme, Recaro SRD’s up front in red, Work Meister CR01’s, and a colour-matched Ruckus in the back. So awesome…

Kirsten’s boosted 3SGE Altezza on Fifteen52 wheels.

You’ll notice a theme that starts to develop as we go through these posts… Brandon AKA ABG hunter starts to pop up more often than one would like. However, his goal was to find an ABG and I tasked him with getting one to take a picture with him by the end of the day… We’ll see how that goes. Here, he’s using Kya as some bait…

Better shot of Kirsten’s Altezza

Another IS300 right behind wrapped in a glitter purple and some pretty cool rose-gold CR-Kai’s…

EDIT: It’s not wrap! It’s actually painted – confirmed by the owner. It’s so bad that now when you see something that’s not your typical paint job, you assume it’s wrap. That’s what wrap has done to us…

The custom decals Type R shop car…

Another Type R following right behind in spoon livery.

This IS was pretty wild… I’m not sure what the flares are but the wheels both front and back were wide as hell. I’d say these were probably the widest wheels at the show… More shots of it during coverage posts later…

The show brings in tons of different flavour as you’ve probably seen. This S15 had a whole bunch of things going on. I’m a GT wing lover but this is next level…

The infamous FC-powered Corolla. Hard to tell in the pic, but it also has carbon doors. Attention to detail on this thing is spot on – especially in and around the engine bay…

I think there’s at least one car every year that turns heads and makes you wonder what’s going on. This mustang was it for me this year – last year, if you recall Sharif’s pink EG that was absolutely slammed with homemade bodywork – I couldn’t help but stop and stare – neither in a good or bad way. Everything on the Mustang was just so backwards for me – the insane amount of front camber made it look like there was 0 camber in the rear…

The wing has been seen on other Mustangs before but you can see even from the rear that insane amount of front camber. Again, I’m neither hating or loving but it kind of goes to show you that there are things that can be done that you just never thought would be done…

Actual coverage tomorrow… I promise!

illmotion Sunday School Show and Shine IX – Part 1

Is this a god damn record for having a post up the same day of the show literally after everyone’s had dinner?! I think so… But also because I can’t really do anything except sit in front of the TV or computer anyway. I know, I know – some of you are all like “why does he have to talk about this for car show coverage?” and although it’s not something worth bragging about, it’s a good reason for explaining the future posts for the coverage of the show.

I got “snipped” on Thursday. 3 days before Sunday School. 4 days earlier than the doctor prescribed to be walking around taking pictures of all your cars. Did I plan it that way? No. Was I bummed about it? A little – ONLY because I take a lot of pride in getting good coverage for the show. I enjoy walking around and looking at all the hard work that you guys have to offer. Now, I could’ve just said “fuck it” and went and took pictures of all the cars by myself like I usually do but the direct result of that would be balls the size of melons and you guys sure as shit ain’t worth fucking melon balls. Instead – JC graciously offered to do the coverage for me with a 30 second tutorial of how to do it. I took the liberty of taking pics of whatever I could within walking distance, but once I remembered the words “melon balls”, I said NOPE and that was that. Anyway, maybe a little TMI but I just wanted to give a shout out to JC for doing that for me LOL!

Anyway, this post will be for the pre-show content  and a little of what I could get of roll-in. If you’re looking for your car here, you likely won’t find it unless I happened to capture you driving by… So, sorry I made you read a story of my balls first… I won’t get into details about the show until I start the coverage… Think of this as foreplay. I’ll try to get the first batch up tomorrow.

Met up with the gang at Spec R at 830AM to gather the things and roll out together. Parked next to Joe’s CTR.

Inside the shop was Daniel from Haute AG’s track-prepped M3 sitting front and center of the shop. I decided to snap some pics of it while the morning sun hit it… It’s been a long time since I last shot it – and it’s changed completely since I have.

The livery around the car is inspired by Yokohama/Advan and there are a plethora of “race car” mods on this but it comes together all so well.

Even the windows have the slider piece. A car that would be a real pain in the ass to drive daily…

Yokohama AD08R. Still the most aesthetically pleasing tire to look at IMO. Nice to see it on display.

Back to Daniel’s M3 – a headlight scoop for the engine bay…

However, the M3 is merely just a shell right now with no heart underneath… Not sure on the plans of it but I’m looking forward to whatever is next.

Out back, Joe and Trung were checking tire pressures on Trung’s Voltex S2000…

Sans Joe… lol

Signed Voltex canard by Mr. Voltex himself…

Trung switched over to Advan GT’s to be in the Yoko booth as well… As nice as the Advan GT/Yoko AD08R combo is – it’s hard to deny that the AD08R looks good on pretty much any wheel.

Some other gems in the shop… As it’s shared by Haute AG/Spec R/Alpine Autoworks. A rare Porsche 914…

I think this is Levi’s old EK but I’m not sure if it’s still his or if it’s sold… It’s my first time seeing it in person and I dig the colour!

Right beside it is an FC on mag blue TE37’s

Inside the EK… All gutted with a cross bar…

A work in progress…

Sitting on bronze Mugen MF10’s… Such a great combo.

Another Porsche hiding in the corner…

I can’t remember but I think this FC was LS-swapped the last time I saw it…

A very rare TRD widebody Supra…

Out front – both of Trung’s cars ready to roll…

Once we got there, the boys went to work on setting up the tents. I basically watched because… Well… Melon balls…

James from Yokohama taking out a display AD08R…

Yokohama welcome mat… I need this for the garage hahaha

As always, the team gets blessed with fantastic weather. There hasn’t been a year with bad weather once – in fact – it’s always super sunny with no wind so everyone just gets farmer tans and sun burns…

I enjoy this view in the early morning… It’s really serene and calming and the skyscrapers add a nice ambiance to it all…

Starting with the roll in shots now… Slammed Civic Si coupe. This gen was a pretty rare gen to see an Si coupe around here. The revision in the headlights are the selling point for me on this gen…

Only one of many lineups during roll-in today… I’d like to add as well that the guys have pretty much mastered the art of roll-in now. I recall in our first few years, there were still some trips and falls during roll-in but man, these guys have it down to the T. Walkie Talkies and everything… It was rare to see it backed up for longer than a few seconds.

STI hatch on Gram Lights

R32 Skyline with a few bolt-on flares, canards and what looks to be a Varis GT wing.

A clean example of a Genesis…

Blue-wrapped BMW 328i on ESR wheels…

See… That morning light though…

Pretty clean Nissan Cima… Don’t see these around too often…

Noel’s S14 from Drift Squad on Work VS-KF’s… Still looks great after all these years…

Part of the Legit Society crew rolling in… These guys are mainly made up of cars from Edmonton with a few here I believe, and they always come in with heavy hitters. I think I might have said this in previous posts but they are all literally Varis/Voltex’d out… Very good examples of strong and true JDM builds.

A new one that I don’t recall ever seeing from them was this Mugen Fit. I have a soft spot for this gen because Diana had one years ago on purple Meisters and Spoon springs and it was clean as fuck. Whenever I see a cleanly modded GE8, I can’t help but admire…

BTS… Does it mean what I think it means? Cause Aria would love the shit out of this car lol.

This bad ass car. I’m going to call it Mater because that’s what it reminds me of and I don’t know anything about trucks… And I’m honestly not trying to offend the owner cause I think it’s cool as hell.

@lsfodirty’s Mode Parfume LS430. I absolutely love how this looks – for a while – he was running stock aero and it looked great but the Mode Parfume just completely changed how it looks.

A little bit of a better shot – he’s also on Alfred’s old Weds Kranze Cerberus III’s that were on his Infiniti M35 years ago… It is truly an underrated wheel and I think because it’s got more ‘wild-styling’ that people tend not to go that route. That’s fair, but if you have the balls to cop ’em and rock ’em well, they are money. I believe he’s also static…

Also – I’m sorry if I don’t know some of your names – I do better by Instagram handles only because I’m exposed to it literally everyday hahaha. If I don’t know your name, I’ll try my best to at least use your username…

A pair of VIP GS300’s…

Ending the roll in with Jesse’s Supra from Lowcals…

I really wish I could’ve gotten more for roll-in, but between this and setting up cars and all the chaos that is roll-in, this was all I could get… Part 2 show coverage coming soon…

8th Annual illmotion Sunday School Show and Shine – Part 5

Finally ending the show coverage with part 5 – a little bit of behind the scenes, a little bit of extra content from a slightly different perspective, and a little bit of talking. It’s been a crazy heavy content week, so thanks for sticking around!

I just wanted to conclude this post with a few closing remarks just so that everyone who does get a chance to read this is all on the same page. For the 8th year in a row, a small groups of friends get together months in advance to plan this big day – that includes looking for a venue that works for the date in mind, organizing what the marketing will look like, setting up the details for registration and plotting out the number of cars that can fit (this is key), getting merchandise and awards planned and created… The list goes on. There’s also other key factors like – which charity will donations be going to this year? What is most important to the group at the time where they feel a difference can be made? One thing I’d like to be clear on – because there seems to be some misconception every year on this – is that the money the guys make from your registrations, merch sales and wherever else the money is coming from does not go into their pockets. I repeat – they do not pocket your money to build their cars or to do anything personal with it – not a single penny. The money collected is used for two things: 1 – to donate to the charity of their choice that year and 2 – to put on the next greatest freaking car show the city has ever had the next year. That’s it folks.

And the last thing is the awards. The honour roll awards – these awards are just the judges/groups top picks of the day. These are not based on a set class or category, there was never such a thing in the last 8 years that this show has been going on. No best wrap, no best paint, no cleanest wheels, no most eligible bachelor… Nada. If you had a car that stood out and it got the collective thumbs up, then it got an award. Please keep in mind – there were 15 awards that day and over 500 cars in attendance. Believe me that if the guys could have made it possible to make as many awards as there were cars in attendance, every one would have got one on the way out. Unfortunately, it comes down to two things – they don’t have unlimited resources and the awards should be viewed as something rewarding, not as some gift bag hand out. And yes, some of you are reading this and you’re thinking “I still should’ve got an award” and yes, your car probably did deserve one but it goes back to my points above. Come back next year with the same enthusiasm and pride in your car and you might just take it away. We all know what it’s like to feel like you had something in the bag only to have it taken by someone else – but that doesn’t mean the show sucks or the judges are biased – not here. If you’re building your car to walk away with a trophy every time you show up to one of these, you’ve lost the love of the game.

Anyway, I just wanted to level the playing field because it’s been a little uneven since Sunday’s show. This isn’t a competition – it’s a easy-going and fun-filled day put together by this small group of friends for you guys to enjoy. The awards are just a little token of recognition – it’s not the purpose of the show. Let’s wrap it up!

Inside the tent – a bunch of us taking a break. Remember that GS450h that I said is for sale? This is Punit. See what he’s holding in his hand? Chai.

I know, I know… You’re all hot and bothered – feel free to excuse yourself before continuing the blog. I apologize for making this the first picture.

Some of the new slaps for sale that day. I really loved the new black and gold ones. So good!

I went around with my 35mm for one last run around to get some shots at a different perspective. Some of the shots would be of cars that you’ve already seen in previous posts, some might not be because I missed them…

Here’s a shot of Tommy’s R34 Sedan with bronze TE37’s

Ryan Dandurand’s F355

A shot of the F355 heart.

Rob’s static and low STI hatch

Aldo and Trung’s S2000’s both on TE37’s

On the inside of Trung’s car, he was displaying the new shirt Import Bible has teamed up with Voltex to make. That would be his car on the back there…

And a shot of the inside of Trung’s car with his new EVS carbon door cars they just installed like the day before. Looks great!

Eric’s S15 and SSR’s

I don’t always turn my camera vertically, but when I do it’s to take shots of sick fitment for your phones wallpaper.

A clear shot of Josh’s K20 EG

Nick Chow’s 911 GT3 sitting pretty

Derrick’s immaculate boosted DC2

The F20 powered AE86 from earlier. Super clean engine bay set up – always awesome to see.

Another wallpaper for you guyz

The RB 240SX – one of my favourites if I didn’t mention this earlier. I don’t know who the owner is but well done once again.

The interior looks just as clean as the exterior.

Aggressive rear to match the front.

Flared STI on the white ZE40’s. I really like this combo.

David’s 2JZ RB S15

Yo Jackie you missed a spot on your wheels but I appreciate the effort. Speaking of effort – is your car always breaking down? Does it need an alignment all the time because you keep hitting the curb or miss dodging those potholes? Are you constantly being told to buy blinker fluid and can never find any in stock anywhere? Ladies, look no further – Jackie can do this all for you. Just swing on by Balance Auto Garage and let him know lifewithjson sent you. If you’re with Jackie, you won’t need to put in effort anymore because Jackie’s middle name is Jackie Effort Tong.

@action_balser’s laid out 7-series. God damn it, I need another VIP car in my life.

Arnold Wong’s CTR on bronze TE37’s. The dude just got these TE37’s and he is already having trouble cleaning them. Dude’s just don’t know how to wash dishes these days or what?!

The theme of the day seemed to be whether people’s wheels were dirty or clean that day and Arif was having this conflict with himself on whether he would have clean enough wheels that he was losing sleep the night before the show. I guess he was torn between clean and dirty that he left the inner lug portions dirty but cleaned everything else. Some people I tell ya…

Aside from the dirty wheels – Arif’s car looked great that day and he just finished his K20 swap as well which is not shown here, but it’s been a long time coming for him and I’m glad it’s finally done.

Now that he’s done his K20 swap, he’s got more time for attention and Arif here is one of the many bachelors for you to choose from. Whether you want some Jina-spec dishes with quality that matches that of Michelin star restaurants every night without the price tag or some late night philosophical chats about life and love under a starry night sky on the hood of his EK – you can have it all. Again, go to Country Hills Toyota, ask for Arif and tell him lifewithjson sent you. He’ll take care of you like he takes care of me.

Lanny’s S4 tank set up. Although this is a simple set up, the hypebeast in me loves this tank design.

Another shot of Carlo’s Varis VA Widebody WRX

The details!! Varis kills it with their kits lately. I really want this crazy fender garnish set up on my FRS somehow…

The back of the VW cab with a wheel display

The rears of the Toyota’s on TE37’s line up.

Remember that pink Civic from roll in? Here it is! I’ve been hearing a lot of hate on this car and I totally understand why. But there’s something about it that drew me to it throughout the show and I wasn’t the only one. For one, it was a completely new build/look/car at the show – I’ve never seen it before. Two – although it’s not a colour everyone would choose, it’s not on the ever famous TE37’s, and it doesn’t have big Japanese brand names all over it like we’re all used to – it’s still put together fairly… Dare I say… Clean?

I’m not even sure where the fender flares are from – they look like they were made of sheet metal by the owner judging from the cuts on them. The bodywork of fitting the lip and skirts onto the car were exceptionally well done compared to a lot of others I’ve seen and the fitment of the wheels was really well and arguably better than a lot of other “stance” cars out there.

The one thing I liked the most of the car was the play on the Liberty Walk decal “Imagine all the people living in peace”. You can guess by the flag and the beverage of choice where the owner is from but I thought this was witty enough to gain points in my book. Also note the wrap job and the fitment of the body pieces – still very clean and lined up.

Out back, the rear spoiler looked to have custom cut end plates as well for better or for worse but it added character. Not something I would’ve done, but there was some effort.

Overall – was it a car that would’ve taken an honour roll? Probably not. Was it a car worth talking about? I think so – whether it’s something good or bad to say, I think the owners were fully expecting it based on how it was put together. Either way, I kind of liked it.

Just a few cars over was this Miata. I was all sorts of confused with this one – was he lowered? Was he stock height? Was the lip on or off? Ahhhhhh

I mean, I really liked the colour and where he was going with it. I just feel like there’s a little too much going on to make it feel pulled together properly. Work in progress, I suppose…

More questions. Why was the backpack sitting there the whole show?! Was he hiding a bad wheel?! I don’t know!!!! Ahhhh

Some more detail shots of Binh’s Datsun. Notice the titanium details on the underside of his bumper holding the fins down that redirect air to the engine.

ITB goodness

Jake’s Silvia again

And a closer shot at the LS swap underneath

Should Punit get a sticker that says “Chaiboyz”?

A few more shots of my absolute favourite at the show – the RB Boss Silvia

That front bumper set up thoughhhhh

LS swapped

Simon Chan’s FRS from the back and a Battle Aero swan neck

Steven’s Varis widebody STI

More of Landon’s RB 240SX

Giuseppe’s S15

Jeevs’ Porsche

One car I missed getting shots of was Benny’s AE86. Not much has changed on this…

… Except for the new Bride KING seats.

Back at the booth. This Punit guy being the body guard back there. Listen dude, I was just trying to snap some content coverage. Relax.

A shot of what the honour roll awards looked like this year. I WANT ONE SO BAD.

All 15 ready to go to a new home…

I love this crowd. Thank you for being such a great group of car peeps!

Live on Instagram… Kind of a weird but creepy feature I never used. Lol I felt like I had to be entertaining in some way…

This was the second I was mind blown that the blue Civic was Terence’s. Godddd

Diana being Asian…

One last shot of the beautiful scenery we had at the venue.

And roll out commences… I didn’t get any shots of that as we were cleaning up and getting ready to clear the lot as we had to be out by a certain time…

Thanks for sticking around for the whole 5-part series! Can’t wait for next year!

8th Annual illmotion Sunday School Show and Shine – Part 4

Part 4 is gonna be a big one. I decided to just power through the next 117 pictures last night so I could finish the show in 5 parts rather than drag it out. I know everyone wants to see pictures, so let’s get ‘er done. For the most part, part 4 is the rest of the team/individual entry lot that I finished up.
If you don’t see your car here, you may see it in the last part as I went around with my other lens and took a few more pics of some favourites or interesting cars I missed the first go around.

Lots of big hitters in this post… Also, this post includes my new service: Lifewithjson Dating Services. Apparently my first post where I gave Brandon a shout out about caught some big wind real fast and then I got some more requests for them so if you’re a single lady, read on – you may find some eligible bachelors that might interest you…

Starting off with the Grom crew… I know all you guys on them, but I don’t know who owns each one (sorry). I just know I want one.

Laid out 7-series – one of the nicest and well-done VIP builds locally right now.

Yellow Altezza on Work Emotions

I’ll be moving kind of back and forth in the row so it might be jumbled up a bit. We’ll start with the baller row of Toyota SUV’s – mainly 4Runners – on TE37’s. Like every single one of them… Making me want one too…

Danny’s 4Runner

Levi’s 4Runner

Nick’s 4Runner

Andy’s 4Runner

Alfie’s 4Runner

Kimberley’s GX470

Jackson’s Tacoma

And lastly – Jackie’s 4Runner. Dude went through the dirt and wiped down the TE’s. He knows what’s up.

Carley’s 240SX in the Still Plays with Cars group

Nismo Juke on air

Gabriel’s Integra on CCW’s

Over on the other side – Aimgain flared and boosted BRZ on VS-XX’s

Jason Tang’s Aimgain/Varis BRZ

RB 240SX with 6666 livery. I really dig this combo and look.

Mike’s bagged hawkeye STI on white ZE40’s. I haven’t seen white ZE40’s but I really like these.

David’s RB 2JZ Silvia. Another awesome build of the show.

Jay’s bagged MK4 Jetta on BBS’s

Super clean black R32

Blue on blue MKIV Jetta

Another of Carley’s cars – a VW Tiguan with rose/pink gold wheels and accents. I dig this colour a lot actually.

Harry’s bagged GTI

A bagged S5 on Meisters. This look will never get old.

F20-powered AE86. No stranger to shows but always a welcome face.

Derrek’s ’94 Integra RS with one of the cleanest swaps you’ll ever see. I regrettably didn’t get a shot of it. Womp womp.

One of Josh’s cars at the show that day – his CTR on bronze TE37’s. A winning combo.

Nick’s Porsche 911 GT3 on TE37’s and a Voltex wing out back looking fresh as always.

Josh’s other – neglected – car was also at the show. Driven in by his dad as you saw in my first post. I don’t know why he doesn’t drive this more… But I guess if you have this and the Type R, it kind of becomes a tough decision. He says the CTR is better to drive in every way and I believe it, but there’s just something about a well built classic Honda that I probably couldn’t stay away from either. Probably the reason he has both… haha

Eric’s S15 laying super low on SSR’s. This is a great combo and probably one of best S15’s out there right now. He’s always pulled off the super aggressive and clean looks well on his cars.

Brandon’s RSX on TE37’s. Remember ladies, he’s single if you don’t mind doing dishes. Slide into his DM’s – his Instagram profile is private, but he really accepts anyone.

Trung’s Voltex S2000 on bronze TE37’s. One of the newer additions on his car were the EVS carbon door cards which obviously you can’t see here but they look dope.

Aldo’s white on white S2000. I hear that he’s sold the car and moving on… But I have not had time to confirm this with him… We’ll see.

Logan King’s bagged STI wrapped in red.

Another bagged and wingless STI right beside him

Justin’s S2000 on matte black TE37’s

My piece.

The only thing that makes my piece better is Levi modeling in front of it. I mean, he’s covering a pretty crucial part of the car, but I’ll let it go because he looks like he’s new to this type of gig…

I’m not sure if this was any better but again… But Hugo seems to be going with it…

I mean, I guess I’m thankful someone was willing to pose with my car… Thanks Levi!

Adrian’s K20 EJ1 Civic. If you recall from Driven – he recently had his whole exterior resprayed by Devon and it looks fantastic.

A shot under the hood. Adrian also went on to take an honour roll award home on Sunday – a lot of work has gone into Adrian’s coupe over the years and mostly by himself with the help of friends.

Gopesh’s flared GTI on BBS’s. Haven’t seen this thing in a minute.

Rob’s static and slammed STI hatch on VS-KF’s.

Kanji’s aired out BRZ with Aimgain flares.

Punit’s aired out GS450h. This thing is for sale btw – so hit him up @pdotpatel on instagram. He is also single… So if he sells this, he’ll have a ton of cash to buy you lots of chai and provide you free UPS delivery services of all the Hermes and Louis Vuitton bags and shoes that you’ll be ordering online paid for by the man himself.

Robert’s (AKA JC) CT sitting pretty as usual. Ladies, if you’re looking for someone that is reliable, dependable, and trustworthy – Robert is your man. He’s got great taste in music so rest assured knowing that if you need some baby-making music, JC will have it at the top of his playlist for you. He’s also one of the only Filipinos that I know that’s never late. That is worth more than gold, ladies.

Metallic red-wrapped G-wagon. I normally wouldn’t say I liked metallic wrap, but it’s not bad on this. I mean, I’d roll around in this.

Steve Chan’s GTR – also for sale. But he’s not single – don’t slide into his DM’s, please.

Ryan O’Hara’s EP3 on ZE40’s. It’s cars like Ryan’s that I look up to because of how long it’s been around. There’s only a few of them now – but even in my first car show back in 2008, Ryan was still rocking his EP3. It’s still very much relevant today but man… If only I could learn to keep a car that long…

Corey O’Hara’s S2000 on CE28’s

Last in the line up is Rich’s Honda Element with a bunch of really unique features that sets the Element apart from all the others you see on the road. From the very sick retrofit, to the retrofitted Honda lip and a custom lip spoiler and diffuser out back.

Rich here is also single and ready to drop the beats in your panties. Ladies, if you’re tired of DJ-ing yourself, let Rich be your DJ, if you know what I mean. He was doing it from practically 9AM till 4PM on Sunday – so you know he can go the distance.

Jeevs and his Porsche out of the lot, but still attracting a lot of attention as per usual.

Over on the last row, we start off with a 1-series in the Bavarian Brigade group.

A very clean Hyundai Genesis. I’m starting to not mind these at all with the way people have been building them.

Slammed Chevy Impala on some dubs – not sure what size but I dig.

Shane’s FRS on Gramlights with carbon exterior accent pieces all around.

Flared 3-series

A storm-trooper themed Focus ST

Another 135i in the Bavarian Bridge group.

J. Rafael’s M235i

Jeremy Law’s flared JDM GC8

Lime green Supra from roll in.

Ending off the Bavarian Brigade line up was this almost-camo themed 335i

White on white Focus ST

Bill from ThreeTwenty and his Ford Focus SE with an ST-swap – one of the very first in Canada, if I recall. He didn’t get his new wheels in time for the show but that’s alright because this is still a great looking set up.

My friend Bill here has been in the photography game for a while now and while he shoots mainly cars, I hear that he also likes shooting boudoir and lingerie sets. So if any of you ladies want those shots for free for your Instagram, Bill has his left ring finger open and free just for you.

Over on the other side, we have Mario’s Ford Fiesta ST with his newly added SS-tuning flares on the front which I mentioned look really great from roll in. I really dig the flow of it and the bolt-less install.

Mario here enjoys his women like he enjoys his food and cars. Although he’s driving an American car, he can’t help but add touches of the Import scene on there as well(Stickydiljoe plate frame). Whether you enjoy your late night ramen or if you’d rather just sip on some refreshing Arizona iced tea – Mario is your dude. Hell, if you drink your iced tea with your ramen, then I can’t see a match more perfect than Mario.

Mustard and ketchup side by side as usual but a good looking pair nonetheless.

Interesting livery design on this widebody hatch.

Derrick’s Camaro LS

Sue’s always clean and minty 240SX-vert. As some of you may know, Sue stumbled across this very immaculate 240SX and I’m glad that it was her that did. If anyone else would’ve, I’m sure this would’ve been rocket bunny’d and cut up by now but her plans are to keep it as stock as she possibly can. I’m glad for that because you don’t see these every day in the condition that it’s in. It’s almost like it just rolled off the show room floor…

Another heavy hitter of the show was this Evo IX in full Voltex aero and bronze ZE40’s. Lots of awesome goodies on this car and this starts off the Legit Society line up.

Evo X on TE37v’s and Voltex goodies.

And another Evo X with Varis goodies this time on TE37’s

And another Evo X on Meisters

And a Ralliart on TE37’s and a Voltex lip

And another Evo X with Varis and Voltex on bronze TE37’s

And another with Varis goodies on Advan’s

Whoa c-c-c-c-combo breaker! But a very welcome one at that. A very clean R33 on XD9’s. I always joke that these look like Impala’s from that back because of the design, but when built like this, they always look so good.

A BRZ series yellow

With an Edelbrock Supercharger under the hood. Quite a pricey set up but very nice nonetheless.

Xavier’s beetle in a very nice orange/red colour.

Another clean Genesis owned by Iain

Bugeye WRX flared wagon on red Te37’s

An FA5 on Gram Lights

This S4 was super dope – another one from roll in that was trailering his matching bike.

And there she is…

The two together. I love the lime green accents with the silver and black.

I believe this is an RB Genesis kit – I liked the colour on this a lot.

RB FRS on TE37V sans the RB livery that it used to have.

Kai’s 86 looking fresh with that TRD lip kit on ZE40’s. I really really like the new front bumper – makes me want to do a conversion too.

Syke’s hyperblue STI on TE37’s

This one is new to me – a super clean almost battleship grey STI on white TE37’s and a Voltex wing out back. I really like this combo – but white wheels have a special place in my heart.

and to end the line up – Carlo’s Varis VA widebody WRX. I can’t express how much I really love this new set up of his and even more so in red. Super killer.

One more angle down low.

As I was walking through taking pics of the Legit Society group, I couldn’t help but think to myself about how well the builds have been put together in the group. For those of you that don’t know, Carlo is the founder of legit society and like all groups – is made up of a small circle of friends. This may or may not be related – stay with me here – but Carlo is Filipino and as one would guess – the circle of friends that showed up at the show last sunday happened to ironically also be Filipino.

Now before I go on to what I thought to myself as I finished walking down legit society’s line up – I just want to say that I am half Filipino, so I am not being racist and Carlo is also a good friend that likely won’t be offended in anyway LOL

As you probably noticed by the pictures – the legit society guys love their Evos and STI’s. As I finished snapping pics of Carlo’s car – I couldn’t help but think that this group of Filipino guys probably got so sick of the damn relation to Rota (Rota is made in the Philippines) that they went and said “puck dis shit” and went and built the damn RAYS/Voltex/Varis catalogue cars. I couldn’t preaking belieb it. This is not a bad thing at all – in fact – it’s actually amazing how fast and well these guys put their cars together. Kudos to you guys for having one of the best line up of cars I’ve seen in a long while. Magaling! To everyone else in the group that’s not Filipino, you have equally well built cars too 🙂

If I have a bone to pick with anyone, it’s this guy Lanny and his super clean S4. This guy has the nerve to spend close to an hour with me at roll in – we were talking about life and cars and everything and he even lives in Airdrie like a community down from me. Then he has the nerve to go and post his photoset coverage on Facebook of the show and didn’t even take one damn picture of my car. I scrolled through that shit like it was on fire while I was on the toilet and man, was I upset.

I even made the effort to go to the end of the lot and said to myself “I better get a pic of this Lanny-guys car cause we’re cool”. Anyway, I hope you’re reading this and you feel bad. Your daughter is super cute too. Just kidding by the way 🙂

Again… Not going to try with the truck but this looks dope as fuuuuu.

MKVII GTI with Meisters and some big Porsche brakes underneath. Love it.

A B5.5 Passat Wagon – I love these things slammed so much.

Another great one in the line up was this MKI Golf Cabriolet. Classic VW’s are among my favourite to see done up like this.

Another super clean VW on BBS’s

And lastly to end the line up and this post is this MKVI Golf R slammed down on I think OZ’s? Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

Anyway – that ends this for this long ass post. The final part 5 will be up tomorrow! Stay tuned!
