Rise & Grind Thursday

I think it’s kind of considered cheating that I’m just posting up lame pictures from my phone up since I don’t like doing it to begin with, but like I said in the previous post, I haven’t really had any new photoshoots done and I’ve been too lazy to go through old pics that may actually be awesome… Actually the truth is that I’ve gotten back into Call of Duty again and that takes up my whole evening LOL. I’m hoping this weekend I’ll have time for at least one photoshoot if the weather isn’t miserable again like it says it’s going to be. We’ll see…

Shitty pics are better than no pics!

A big reason for the hectic schedule is the recent department move at work and getting settled in and trying to pretty up the place and now we’ve got a bunch of work coming down the pipe.

IMG_20130606_065931Pic I instagrammed this morning. Always one of the first in line in the parking lot at the back since everyone likes to come late. Last night I was thinking about how fast summer is coming and how fast it’s going to go… Before I know it, I’ll be wearing a winter jacket and the car in the back of this photo will be the Civic again. X_X

Brandon and I are a two-man team right now. I creeped him yesterday sitting in the temp desks. It looks super ghetto right now cause all this construction is going on and the new desks are not going to be here until July. I always think it’s hilarious when I peek and I see him all alone in a group of 4 desks with wires hanging down and the shopping cart full of toner in the middle of no where. The desks are all different colours, but we’re pretty sure they were made in the 50’s and peep the Mexican cut out beside him… LOL at least the carpet is new…  IMG_20130606_085250My home now. Moved out of the cave of an office into a nice big corner desk with windows behind me. I can’t complain – the office is nice for privacy, but I’d much rather have a window and open space if I’m going to be sitting here for most of the day. I need it to look better… Just got nothing to design it with.

Hublot Oceanographic 4000

Titanium Hublot Oceanographic 4000. Monster watch and heavier than the carbon version but still light for what it is… but also a lot cheaper.

Quick release for the straps, grade 2 titanium, super luminova, and helium escape valve that will never be used lol.

That’s it for watches for me.

Gummy Croco Arrival

So after a long 10 weeks, my gummy croc strap came in to Calgary Jewelry. It’s brutal because if you think about it – it’s only a strap, yet it took almost as long as wheels.

It makes the watch look like a totally different animal. I know it’s weird to say, but the watch as a whole is a little bit lighter and it gives it a more unique look. The rubber was nice but made it look cheap and I don’t know why I didn’t get gummy in the first place. It’s also super comfy to wear.

One thing I wish is that they made the Nomex bands for the Big Bangs too and not just King Powers. That’s another super comfy band that I’d love to have one day. Nomex is used to make things like racing gloves and it’s fireproof too. If you guys ever get a chance to try on a Nomex band from a King Power, do it. You’ll never look back. Anyways, just took some quick shots of the gummy.

“I got a Hublot, I call it Tebow, I strap that bitch with a gator band”

A little different than the usual car posts…

When I picked up my big bang, I got the standard rubber strap to go with it and didn’t really think of my other options. Ever since we went to Vegas for the bachelor party a few months ago and visited the Hublot boutique, we got a chance to take a look and try on a whole range of Hublots – Aero Bangs, King Power F1’s, Carbon Big Bangs – all on different bands. Rubber, tire tread, gummy croc and even the Nomex band which was my favourite and most comfortable.

Last week Diana and I booked a trip to Vegas in December for dirt cheap and I was planning on going back to the boutique to pick up the gummy croc this time. Out of curiousity and impatience, I decided to give Calgary Jewelery a call to see if they could get me one sooner. The good news is that they can and it was cheaper than the boutique in Vegas. The bad news is that it’s going to take 8 weeks for delivery straight from Switzerland. It’s like waiting for car parts all of the sudden!

Anyways – peep the pics to see how nice the gummy croc is. It even looks super comfy. I stole the pictures from a member on TimeZone with the same watch. I am stoked.

It even looks gummy lol
