FS: 2014 Scion FR-S – Own The Black Swan

My first post of 2019 and it’s to sell my 2014 Scion FR-S…

Reason for selling: Another kid is on the way and as much as I love what this car has become, it’s not something I can enjoy enough to make it worth keeping and it would be a waste to just have it sit in my garage rather than let someone else enjoy it as I have.

Some basic info: I bought the car new from South Pointe Toyota and I am the only owner. The car has been babied it’s whole life and only ever driven in the summer. It’s never been on the track (sadly) but that’s where you come in! The engine bay has pretty much been left alone with the exception of the exhaust components. The interior is more or less mint – the carpets are in pristine condition and is shampooed and vacuumed at least once a month during the summer.

The paint condition of the car has been kept up in the best way that I know how – polished, sealed and waxed several times during summer. You won’t see swirls on this black paint if I had anything to do with it. The car gets an oil change every 5000km at Balance Auto Garage with OEM Toyota Synthetic Oil and if it doesn’t hit 5000km before I park it for winter, it gets one after I wake it up the next summer. Both keys are in good working order.

The car – in my opinion – is extremely fun to drive. It’s balanced and feels planted – there’s no rubbing and has almost the perfect setup to drive aggressively without breaking or scraping anything.

The cons: The passenger side sidemarker is loose – a common issue on the first gen FR-S/BR-Z and I’ve done my best to keep it intact. The trunk is the OEM trunk – this is the only piece that you’d either have to get new or re-weld and re-paint if you decide to take the wing off. The sideskirts have some spider-webbing cracks along the bottom but generally not too noticeable.

As stated above – the price is pretty firm and I’m generally open for serious buyers to come see it. No test drives during the winter though for obvious reasons. I know you will have seen/heard this a lot but please only reach out if you’re serious about buying this as a whole and truly want to own a car like this. I will not part the car out and you will need another car to bring all the stock parts home. This includes stock wheels/tires, bumper, headlights, exhaust components, seat, brakes, etc. If you have all the cash in hand, you can drive it or trailer it home whenever you want. I’ve thought about the price for a long time and I think it’s fair given the quality and the price of these parts if you were to build it all from scratch using a used, stock FR-S. I’m not looking to make extra coin on this – simply wanting a good deal for both the buyer and myself. Drive away with a car you literally need to do nothing on or make it better than what I’ve done.

FS: 2015 Toyota Corolla S

Might as well post this up here to get traction too. We’re putting the Corolla up for sale since we barely use it. It was originally just a replacement for Diana’s Fit at the time since we were getting a killer deal on the trade value. Since then, it kind of just sits there and we drive it once in a while but not enough to make it worth it… So why not make it worth it for someone else!

The car today has 23,703km on it – one of the lowest I’ve seen on the market over the last few weeks. If you know me, you know this car has been kept in mint condition. No accidents, no dents or dings, it gets driven like a grandma, and the interior is pretty much perfect. Really, the only seat that’s ever used is the drivers seat. I think the backseat has a total of 1 hour of seat time since we’ve brought it home.

It’s the S trim package A. It has dual front heated seats, auto windows and mirrors, USB/bluetooth connectivity, steering wheel controls, cruise control, touchscreen HU, heated side mirrors, back-up camera, and foglights – basically everything you need in either a daily driver or a more-than-reliable winter car. I’ll include the Compustar 2-way remote starter, a set of all-season tires with 90% tread and another set of winter tires with about 85% tread. The car has always had rubber floormats inside so the carpet is in very good condition, trunk has never been used, and it has free oil changes at Toyota until 2020. Maintenance has been kept up to date with all receipts and records available from Country Hills Toyota. All in all, a great car – just little use from us so I’d rather not have it go to waste.

Asking price: $19,500 OBO. Open to reasonable offers.

For Sale: 2007 Lexus LS460L

I know… It’s that time again.

It’s time to sell the LS and move onto something new. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate the LS and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it – I love the luxury and the power and the good looks, but there’s something about not having a clutch and a sporty feel to the car that makes me feel like I’m missing out on something. Call me crazy but I want a loud exhaust back, I miss sitting in a bucket seat that made it so uncomfortable on the drive to work, I miss changing a shift knob, I miss a damn GT wing… And at the end of the day, I miss being a ricer. The LS is too comfy, too hard to change and too proper (not to mention expensive). The one thing I did love about the LS was that I got to get my feet wet with the VIP scene and understand it a little more and possibly bring a little bit of a different flavour to the scene we are so used to today.

I’ve whored the car out enough for you all to know exactly what you would be getting if you were to buy it. Nothing crazy… So if you know someone looking for an LS460, send them my way!

So in reality, I love the LS and if I could afford to, I would keep it. I would have loved to keep all my cars but my garage is not big enough and Diana would not approve or all the cars I wish to have. What’s next? I don’t exactly know yet. I’m tossing up a few ideas but I definitely want to build something my way and get back into the boy-racer scene. Looks like I haven’t outgrown it afterall…
