The last installment to my Driven coverage. Like every year – it’s been tiring, it’s been long, and it’s been fun. Even though it was an early start for the show this year, everyone came out with their game faces on and really helped put on a great show.

Thank you to all of you that have been sharing my posts, for sending me pictures (that I’ll post shortly!) and most of all, for enjoying them and tagging me in all your stuff. Most importantly, thank you to everyone for bringing your A-game to the show and making this even more enjoyable than the year before.

This post finishes up the rest of the full car shots that I was able to get and some detail shots I got while running around with my 50mm… Enjoy!

The engine bay shot of the STRD Civic… Monster.

Another shot of Giuseppe’s incredible R32. Seeing his car in pictures is one thing, but the presence that his car has in person is something else. It’s the only R32 that can get me moist – no homo, Giuseppe.

Another clean widebody Genesis in the Legit Society booth. Everyone’s got bolt on fender flares and I’m over here like “why would I want to cover up those sexy curves?”.

R33 Skyline from Legit Society. Not the most popular Skyline chassis around, but it can look good if executed right.

I liked this Varis Evo. I feel like it needed a GT wing to balance out the front… But you know me…

Brandon’s RSX-S on white TE37’s sitting right beside Kelvin’s. Twinsies… Brandon’s RSX-S is exactly how I wanted to build a RSX back in the day. Black with white TE37’s.

Romel’s Celica. God this thing is so clean… Every time I see it, it’s under a car cover tucked away in the corner of the garage with body panels and stuff all over it. Then once a year, it comes out looking like mother fuckin’ Beyonce and shits on the show. Peep his new TRD aero jacket addition up front. JDMMMMM

Benny’s F20 swapped AE86. Looks exactly the same from the day I shot it centuries ago… I wouldn’t have changed a thing anyway. Perfection.

Ricky’s GTI slammed on SSR’s in Spectrum Silver. It’s a shame that they can’t shine like they should indoors. The colour is still one of the best.

PS: did you know – days later, Ricky found hundreds (if not thousands) of baby spiders in his wheel well? Fucking NASTYYYY. It’s for sale now (I’m making the executive decision for him).

Whoa. I literally just surprised myself as I scrolled through and saw this pic. I don’t even remember taking this – I didn’t really take as many shots as I should have of my own car… I love it because this is as black and as shiny as it’ll ever be.

If you looked closely, you could also see all the Mugen bolts holding everything together. Hell, there are Mugen bolts where you can’t even see them.

I have one more part after this before the show coverage is all done. It’s sad that it comes and goes so quick… I apologize again that the pictures are all over the place. Blame WordPress (and maybe my genius idea to edit and upload in batches). Never again.

I will say though, that after going through all these pictures I’ve enjoyed looking at all of them. The quality of cars has gone up immensely and I truly mean that. If you do some digging to years prior, you might find me going on about how I really wanted the quality of cars to be better and that it was so lackluster in the sense that quality was so far and few between. I love, love, love that people are paying more attention to quality parts and work – at the end of the day, that is what stands out and that’s what gets you points, or awards, or recognition – whatever it is you’re looking for. If it’s not any of those, you can still assure yourself that you’ve got good quality parts with peace of mind and at the very least, you’re supporting good companies.

But I digress… Here we go

Saw this couple and dude ridin’ dirty around the show in his Audi R8. I’m sure he was mean-mugging me cause he caught me slippin’… Thank god the shade was covering his face. LOL

Ricky’s GTI still looking clean as ever. Still probably one of my favourite GTI’s out there. I loved all the aero additions – most usually stay with stock body panels so it’s rare to see this. Ricky also had a JDM influence on his car as well which gets bonus points in my book.

Gugliano’s Civic – nice to see it come together. I followed his build thread on Beyond for quite a long time now and it looks fantastic.

Lots of in-house work done by him and friends.

At the entrance of Driven was the Lowcals group. 4-door R34 – a much rarer sight to see.

Jason’s wrapped BRZ. I understand he did this himself – nice work.

Spoon-equipped S2000. Rare to see this nowadays – I’m not sure who the owner is today, but it hasn’t changed much since Daniel Chan had it. Nice that it’s still in good condition.

Crazy looking GT-R with some massive Tomei quad exhuast tips, Swan neck wing, and Advan GT’s.

Reminds me of Dal’s old type R. Maybe this was built off of that as inspiration?

I thoroughly enjoyed this genesis. I’m not entirely sure which flares they are – I was thinking RB – but I think it’s missing the front bumper extensions. However, this sounded and looked good.

Everyone in this booth seemed to have ordered a GT wing and got it at the same time. (You’re all from Edmonton right?) haha

This was super simple, but very pleasing to the eyes. Face 4 brozne ZE40’s are lit. (First time I’ve ever said that, I swear).

I think this was the only 8th gen Civic there that day. Reminds me of my first year at Driven…

Jimmy’s M3 on new diamond dark gunmetal ZE40’s. Great color/wheel combo. This is still my favourite M3 body to date.

Lots of updates to Jimmy’s engine as of late… Not that I know any of it…

Part 3 here we go! Again, in no particular order… Sorry, I didn’t deliver last night like I said I was going to. I decided to spend the rest of the night editing all of the photos and I’ll have a post up every day.

I’m also afraid that I may have messed up the pictures and missed some. I edited in batches and uploaded as I went. The media storage on WordPress didn’t seem to keep it in the order I uploaded it so it got all jumbled… There may be a chance that there are duplicate pictures across posts or I missed some altogether. Once I get all the posts up, I’ll go through them again to make sure.

The AE86 that won honourable mention Toyota (I think?). Anyway, this was the same car that won at the illmotion Show and Shine last year. Brand new OEM everything in this car right down to the seals. Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.

Like I said… I don’t know a thing about trucks but I think these are bad ass lol. I can’t even imagine how much money is spent on the suspension parts for this but I wouldn’t even want to drive it… Way cool.

Back in the Vex booth – an immaculate LHD Supra Targa on Weds wheels.

Probably my favourite of the show – Landon’s rocket bunny 240SX. The paint and bodywork was done by Nick Prah as well. Lots of good work coming from him – he’s got the Midas touch when it comes to making paint look wet. I just absolutely love the look of this.

Giuseppe’s infamous BIGNJPN R32. Still my favourite R32 to date – it is executed so well with a variety of parts that have been retrofitted to work with his car as if they were made for it.

You can see one of his biggest additions this year peeking through the wheels – Brembo BBK *heart face*
