I’m just about there. Sorry again for the mess over the last two days – it’s been stressful trying to get everything the way I want it. Even now, it’s not 100% there but I’m slowly making my way to completing it.
As you can see, it’s a drastic improvement over what it used to be – I’ve been learning CSS to modify the page properly and it’s been eye-opening to what I’ve been missing out on this whole time.
A few of the major changes have been that I’m now able to display 1600-pixel wide photos versus 800-pixels – double that is like visual stimulation overload. We’ll see how well it works, if it’s too much, then I can scale it back a bit.
I’ve also gotten rid of the clutter on the side (archives, recent posts, etc) and moved it to the bottom. Again, I don’t deem it very useful mainly because as a reader, I just want to read the latest and greatest. If I decide I want to stick around longer, I’ll find my way to the bottom to search for more.
Added a “Connect” page for those that want to know where my Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr/FlickR pages reside. I’m still working on creating a header that I’m happy with – so this will have to do for now.
One of the predicaments I was coming across was whether I wanted to change the layout to be more of an “article-style” website where you click into each post. It’s cleaner, but it’s longer. I think everyone (including myself) likes to see everything on one page, right away.
Anyway – if you guys can think of any suggestions to help improve the site, I’m more than willing to hear it! Thanks for sticking around!
Just to test out what the new layout will look like, here’s a shot of Quincy’s Varis STI from Sunday School 🙂
