Well it was back to the drawing board for a side decal for Mode Luxe. In regards to the original side decal that I had created – I was happy with it but I wasn’t in love with it. There was something off about it that made me hesitant to go ahead with it. I know it sounds dumb because it’s just a sticker, but it’ll either make or break the look of our cars and if I don’t love it, I won’t end up creating it to have on other peoples’ cars.
It was either the side decal on the lower part of the doors or it was a pinstripe. I decided to go ahead and try out the pinstripe because it’s a lot less in-your-face, and it’s a lot cleaner. Not a lot of people are a fan of pinstripe because of its reputation in the past. But like I said, there’s a lot change in the scene and the VIP scene is no slacker when it comes to leading something new or bringing something back from the dead in a new way.
With that said, I think we are all in agreement on how this looks and that it’s better in terms of looks and simplicity. We are in the process of getting these cut by Bill over at ThreeTwenty so hopefully I’ll have a sample to show soon. There’s also been a lot of questions about whether I’m selling these or how to get a hold of them, and to be honest – I hadn’t originally planned to sell anything related to Mode Luxe. It was a slogan JC came up with and a design that I took and ran with. Today, it’s something that has stuck and really just distinguishes the VIP style that we have in our group. In other words, it’s a reason for us to be ricers.
