I know for the past few months, I’ve been super indecisive about which kit to get and I’ve been putting together tons of combinations in my head and trying to piece it together to look how I wanted it to. I find that it’s always easier to follow through with a plan if you know what it’s going to look like in the end. If you meticulously think about what pieces go together and make sure they compliment each other, it usually ends up being pretty good. I used to make the mistake of buying parts because I liked the part, but never really thought about how it would look on the car. That was how I first started when I built the Civic and in the end, I lost $1000’s just cause I bought things cause they were cool. I think a lot of the time, you see cars put together with nice pieces, but the pieces just don’t all work together.
Last year when I was awaiting all my parts, I had photoshopped a picture of my STI with the Varis bumper and skirts TE37’s in white and the Voltex wing. I wish I could find it again, but it ended up being spot on.
Anyways – We’re back at that stage and I think I’ve found the two options I’d like to go with. Full Aimgain VIP or Full Aimgain VIP GT. The GT side, as I’ve mentioned before is super aggressive and is the direction that Japan seems to be going with their VIP scene these days. That’s not to say I’m a JDM fanboy and like to follow trends, but more often than not – they usually do it right and we’re usually years behind. Stepping it up is hard because you need to cross the line lots of people are not willing to do. I’m tired of people building things to please other people who don’t even drive your car.
Either way, I’m not sure which way to go… I tried to photoshop but I still got like 10 months to decide lol. I tried my best to make the cars Smokey Granite Mica, a teal Futura Design BBK and of course the Merisia’s.
What do you guys think?
VIP GT
Definitely the VIP GT. Love the aggressiveness.
I love it too… I wish I could have both! haha
I agree with you 100% in that buying nice parts does not necessarily guarantee a smooth, complete build. Anyway, that GT kit is super aggressive. I’m not sure about it. I do like the rear lip spoiler, though. Are you dead-set on these two kits? I only ask because I’m a fan of the Wald Executive Version 1 kit. Whatever you do, I’m sure it will look sick. Can’t wait. Keep doing your thing. I enjoy checking up on your stuff…
Yes, I love the rear as well. It’s only the front that I”m hesitant about but I’m sure it looks so awesome in person. I am also a fan of Wald, but so far almost every LS460 has that kit. I want to try and be a bit different because Wald has been done so well many times.
Still a long ways to go before I finally settle and pull the trigger… Thanks for the kind words! 🙂
